He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Kenneth, Yvonne McCarty and Colleen Sams; and his great-grandparents, Elder Carl McCarty and Mildred Sizemore.
He is survived by: his wife Samantha Cawood; his children, Justin Cawood (Ashley), Kayleigh Cawood (Alex), Jordan Isabella Cawood, Jaylyn Cawood and Jasmine Cawood Smith (Steven); his granddaughter Raelynn Ann Michelle Smith; his parents, Kay McCarty Sams (Doug) and Achillus Cawood, Jr.; his siblings, Justin Carl, Matt Sams, Jay Sams, Jessie Sams and Jessica; his nephew Dawson; his aunts and uncles, Kendra, Shannon Gray, Don Giles and Tim McCarty; his mother-in-law Judy Steenbergen (KJ); his close friends, Michael Bryant, Andy Watkins, Brian and Stephanie Thorpe; his sister Piper Thorpe; and his close friend Tucker Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
