It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maggie Smith of Corbin, Kentucky, who passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Teresa Ann Nelson; her parents, Henry Murphy and Lula Slusher Murphy; and her grandson Patrick Taylor. She is survived by: her children, David Nelson (Stacy), Dorothy Daniels (William), Lisa Weddle (Joey Houston), Debbie Weddle and Mike Weddle (Tonya); her grandchildren, Teresa Kearney, Tony Taylor, Angela May, Brittany Weddle, Crystal Johnson, Violet Reyes, Tkeyah McCulley, Brenda Brison, Tiffany Lawson, Travis Nelson, Misty Hill, Mikie Weddle, Eric Turner and Jace Nelson; and her siblings, Dorothy Cox (J. C.) and R. B. Murphy (Jackie). She is also survived by son 28 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
