She was predeceased by: her husband Allen Batiste Sr.; her parents, Robert Benjamin (Agnes Landry Benjamin) and Agnes Benjamin; her children, Jacob Batiste, Patsy Batiste, Gloria Ann Batiste (Calvin) and Gaynell Batiste Davis; her grandson William Stroud Jr.; and her siblings, Phillip, Peter, Earl, Leroy, Robert, Howard Benjamin, Carlton Collins, Shirley Benjamin, Earline Benjamin, Elsie Hebert and Margaret Clark.
She is survived by: her daughters, Bobbie Mouton (Joey), Helen Batiste, Diane Batiste of Abbeville, Norma Celestine (Robert) of Youngsville and Myrna Smith of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Allen Batiste (Tanya) of Cade, Carr Batiste (Sandy) of Franklin and Curtis Batiste of Abbeville; her sister Julia Randall; and her sister-in-law Edna Benjamin of Lafayette, LA. She is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 8:00 AM at the Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc. (1011 N St Antoine St, Lafayette, LA 70501). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Cathedral Catholic Church (914 St John St, Lafayette, LA 70501). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at the St. John Cemetery (515 Cathedral St, Lafayette, LA 70501).
