She was predeceased by: her husbands, Anthony Leblanc and Lenden Lewis Sr.; her parents, Leopaul Matthews and Philome Matthews; her grandson Lawrence Edgar; and her siblings, Hilma Charles, Maydel Fuselier, Edna Malveaux, Agnes Thibeaux, Vernice Celestine, Margaret Lopez, Mabel Labbe, Rene Matthews, Alvin Matthews and Joseph Matthews.

She is survived by: her children, Jackie Edgar and Lenden Lewis II (Mary); her grandchildren, Rachael Edgar Fontenette (Leonard), Allen Edgar "Frosty", Lenden Lewis III, Lance Lewis and Rachael St Julien; and her great grandchildren, Ali Edgar, Aiden Edgar, Hunter Lewis, Zamyra Jett, Toriy Anderson, Andre St Julien and Fallon St Julien. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

“Lenden and Jackie, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I didn't know about the loss of your mother until yesterday. Effie has always been someone I've look up to since my days at Lewis Services. I can remember just like it was yesterday her clean the dealership in Breaux Bridge, coming by the offices and seeing her smiling face. I will tease her and she would give it right back.
