He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Jim and Lucille Jim. He is survived by: his wife Elsie James; his son Derrick Lee James; and his siblings, Mary Alice Golbert, Linda Navarre, Joanna Fils, Diana Edmond and Elton Jim.
