He is survived by: his children, Mary Elizabeth Lewis (Kevin) of Carencro Louisiana, Cheyrl Lee Sonnier of Columbus Georgia, Lawrence Smith Jr. of Seattle Washington, Joshua Joseph Smith of Duson Louisiana and Joseph Ivory Smith of Atlanta Georgia; his siblings, Larry Smith of Houston Texas, Joyce Carter (Michael Sr.) of Lafayette Louisiana, Corliss Johnson of Carencro Louisiana and Carol Woods (Kerry) of Lafayette Louisiana; his grandchildren, Evan Virdure Smith, Rhett Virdure Smith, Caleb Pearley, Leyla Smith, Elijah Smith, Phoenix Smith and Jayden Miller; and his godson Jefferson Thomas Johnson (Stephanie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
