It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilyn George of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Dixon, and Leona Dixon, Sr.; her siblings, Earl Dixon, Jr., Eddie Dixon, Linda Jordan, Richard Dixon and Marjorie Carter; her parents-in-law, Geneva Joseph and Felix George; her siblings-in-law, Owen Carter, James "Jimmy" Guidry, Howard Hebert, Sr. and Laura Dixon; and her nephew Zy'Rel Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Edwin George, Sr.; her children, Tonya Joseph of Parks, Clara George of Lake Charles, LA, Edwin George, Jr. (Tonya) of Lake Charles, Felton George (Amy) of Washington, DC and Leona George of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Autumn Joseph, April Joseph, Aurielle Joseph, Cadiin Johnson, Asa George, Bryson George, A'Roya Ransom, Riley Peter, Mila George and Michael Peter III; Jameala Rubin (Michael) of Gretna.
