He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Davenport and Agnes Elizabeth Yates; and his brothers, Richard D. Yates, Charles Yates, Joseph Owens and James L. Owens.
He is survived by: his children, Michael A. Davenport, Jr. (Germany) and Shara C. Davenport; his grandchildren, Georgia Davenport (Germany), Maxine Pez (Virginia) and Lamar Davenport (Maryland); his great grandchildren, Ezra and Lorenzo Davenport (Maryland); his close friend Beeanna G. Swain; his siblings, Kenneth L. Owens (Josephine), Sheila M. Koonce, Mary June Taylor (Rolondo), Mattie L. Browning, Mary Ann Middleton and Beatrice C. Jenkins; and his stepchildren, Demetra Harris, Robert Swain (Tennessee), Gary W. Swain, Jr. and Stephanie S. Brinson (Florida).
