He was predeceased by: his parents, Eunice Shelvin Babineaux and Robert Desire Pierre of Lafayette; his grandparents, Lorena Shelvin, Joseph Shelvin, Cecelia Pierre and Desire Pierre; his aunt Helen Calais; his uncle Elton Pierre; his stepfather Kenneth Gibson Sr.; and his cousins, Travon "Mummy" Benjamin, Benard "Barnyard" Shelvin and Telvis.

He is survived by: his siblings, Verna St. Julien (Morris) of Carencro, Eugene Hebert of Lafayette, Kenneth Gibson Jr. of Lafayette and Charelle August of New Iberia; his children, Lakeisha Simms (Jerome) of Houston, Robert Hebert Jr. of Lafayette, Davian Brown of Lafayette and Heavenly Hebert of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Azari and Jaden Simms of Houston; his aunts and uncles, Lorena Shelvin, Annie Ruth Broussard Benjamin, Brenda Broussard (Oscar), Brenda Stewart (Terry), Theresa St. Julien, Pearl Beniot, Alicia Harris, Beatrice Felix, Pearl Robertson, Theresa Lenceiot, Cecelia Felix, Albert Pierre, Micheal Pierre, Leroy Pierre, Arthur Pierre, Clarence Minor and Andrew Broussard; his brothers, Charles Harmon Sr. and Walter Harmon Sr.; and his close friend Deitra Morgan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
