It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lakeisha Marie Mitchell of New Iberia, Louisiana, who passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 51, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Hubert Martin, Jr.; her grandparents, Eldridge Butler, Jr. and Victoria Butler; and her aunts, Wanda Faye Armstead and Francine Martin.
She is survived by: her mother Lorraine Mitchell of New Iberia, LA; her sons, Jashon Jarkel Mitchell (Ja'quionjana) of New Iberia, LA and Jaron Steven Mitchell (Passion) of New Iberia, LA; her siblings, Andre Martin (Andrea) of Rayne, LA, Hubert Martin III, Christopher Archangel of Jeanerette, LA and Lakandra Mitchell (Terry Stokes) of New Iberia, LA; and her grandchild Ja'Kaiyon Mitchell of New Iberia, LA. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia (609 W Admiral Doyle Dr, New Iberia, LA 70560). A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
