He was predeceased by: his wife Ailda "Tilly" Ledet; his parents, Joseph Ledet and Leiona Olivier Ledet; and his brothers, James Larry Ledet, Sr. and Wilmer Ledet.
He is survived by: his children, Hilda Feroce (Anthony) of Patterson, NY, Mariona Ledet of Conroe, TX, Marixsa Ledet Gaddy of Brownsville, NJ and Mario Ledet of Louisiana; and his siblings, Mary Almita Semier of Broussard, LA, Evelyn Rodriguez (Jose) of Grand Marais, LA, Lynell Dartez (Christopher) of Sacramento, CA, Russell Ledet (Eileen) of Mill Valley, CA and Preston Ledet, Sr. of Broussard, LA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia (609 W Admiral Doyle Dr, New Iberia, LA 70560). A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 8:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church (7809 Weeks Island Rd, New Iberia, LA 70569).
