She was predeceased by: her parents, Alister Smalls and Sarah Smalls; her husband William Kent Tyler III; her daughter Sarah Jane Samuels; and her siblings, Lillian Claiborne, James Smalls, Lila Davis, Josephine Norman and Ethel Campbell.

She is survived by: her aunt Janie; her uncle Edward Thompson; her great grandchildren, Raye and Cee; her grandchildren, Lisa, William, Stephen, Balgene and Heather Samuels; and her niece Pauline Wallace of Long Island, NY.. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home (1803 Centre St, West Roxbury, MA 02132).
