He was predeceased by: his parents, Jennie Brooks and Rufus Brooks Sr.; his brothers, Rufus Brooks Jr. and Hillary Brooks; his aunt Emma Cowan; and his siblings-in-law, Randolph Haynes, Arnie Hinkle and Oretha Yarborough (Harold Yarborough).
He is survived by: his wife Dreama Brooks; his children, Billy Brooks Jr. and Danita Brooks; his grandchildren, Xenia, Billy III, Kevin Jr., Gia, Ria, Olivia and Lauryn; his great grandchildren, Janelly, Rihanna, Aliyah, Josiah Jr. and Zyaire; his aunt Ann Lyons of Akron, Ohio.; and his siblings, Tommie Brooks, Nancy Lopez Brooks, Walter Brooks, Mary Brooks, Thelma Jones, Smiler Haynes I and Sesalee Brooks. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
