He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ragnar and Katherine Johnson (Noonan); and his siblings, Carol and John. He is survived by: his wife Linda (Mackie); his sons, David and Matthew; his daughter-in-law Nilufer; and his grandchildren, Lale and Hayal. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

“Mr. Johnson was my high school teacher. I never met someone who is so into teaching. Determined to teach all that he knew. I'm not a fan of any type of science to this day, but from all my classes I'm just realizing that his class is the one of classes I didn't miss. His personality is very relaxing and his belief in his students was new to me. Mr. Johnson is one of the best teachers I had during my schooling time. I'm sorry for his family loss. Mr. Johnson was a great man.”
