With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward A. Clarke (Boston, Massachusetts), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 26, 2026 at the age of 96. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Monthero Clarke and James Clarke; his wife Margaret L. Clarke; his son Christopher Gibbs; and his siblings, Eugene "Sonny" Clarke, Alan Clarke Sr., James Richard Lee "Dicky", Janice and Edmead (Amy Hood).
He is survived by: his daughter Christina Anderson; his son-in-law Mark Anderson; his sisters, Ruthann Clarke and Mildred Shelburne; his grandchildren, Tyrique, Taryn, Kelly, Justine, Paul and Jocelyn; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Craig, Sydney, Carrington, Simone and Gabriel; his cousin Phyllis Littleford (Roland Littleford); and his friends, Elder Bernard Smith and Elder Cynthia Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home (490 Columbia Rd, Dorchester, MA 02125). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
