He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Joseph E. Gleason and Elizabeth P. Gleason (Crawford). He was also cherished by 13 nieces and nephews, 27 grand-nieces and nephews, and 19 great-grand-nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Magrath Funeral Home (336 Chelsea St, Boston, MA 02128). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Church (45 Brooks St, Boston, MA 02128). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at the Holy Cross Cemetery (175 Broadway, Malden, MA 02148).

At Jim's request, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club of East Boston would be appreciated.
