He was predeceased by: his spouse Claire McDonough (Hines); his parents, Patrick McDonough of Lettermullen and Winifred (Mulkerrin) of Carna; his parents-in-law, Ernest and Margaret Hines (Shand); his granddaughter Kathlyn McDonough; and his brothers, Patrick McDonough (late Arlene) of South Boston and John McDonough (late Arlene) of Braintree.
He is survived by: his children, Ann W. Doherty (late Brian Doherty) of Dorchester, James M. McDonough (Nancy) of Abington, Paul J. McDonough (Erin) of Dorchester, Lisa M. Smith (William) of Braintree and Steven A. McDonough (Ali Bennett) of Abington; his grandchildren, Jennifer, James, Shalin, Ryan, Brianne, Sean, Andrew, Nolan, Michael McDonough, Margaret England, Nora, Gavin Doherty, Marcus, Steven Egan, Billy, Edward Smith, Joseph Theodore and Samantha Theodore; and his great grandchildren, Cameron Egan and River McNelly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
