Jane Sarah Prince, 62, affectionately known as “Janie,” “Princess,” or “Auntie” to those who loved her, was born on April 20, 1963, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to Cecelia and William Prince. After a courageous battle with cancer, Jane passed away on January 4, 2026, surrounded by love and support.
Jane attended Brockton High School and spent much of her life in the Brockton and Boston areas. She was known for her kind heart, her quick wit, and her natural sense of humor. Jane had a way of making people laugh without trying, and being around her was always enjoyable. She loved music, dancing, good food, and spending time with family and friends.
Jane was deeply devoted to her family.
Her life was marked by resilience, compassion, and perseverance. She spent much of her time helping and supporting others through various community and service roles in the Boston and Cambridge areas, offering care, dignity, and kindness to those in need.
Faith played an important role in Jane’s life. She openly shared her belief in God.
Jane was known for her pure heart and her extraordinary gift for spreading love and light wherever she went. Her energy was infectious, bright, and full of life. Her playful humor brought joy to those around her, Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life, and she adored them beyond measure.
Jane was predeceased by her beloved son, Stephen, her parents, Cecelia and William Prince of Brockton, Massachusetts, her sister, Theresa Prince-Davis of Houston, Texas; and by her partner and best friend, Michael Williamson of Boston, Massachusetts.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Marcus Lewis and wife Caitlyn of Brockton Massachusetts, Joshua Lewis, her cherished grandchildren, Jaylen, Jazzy, London, Isiah, and Joshua Jr., her siblings: Michael Prince and wife, Anna; Lesha Prince, Valerie Prince Barros and her husband, Pedro all of Brockton Massachusetts, William Santos of Fall River, Massachusetts ; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends who will remember her for her thoughtfulness, generosity, and enduring spirit.
Services are entrusted to Floyd William Funeral Home 490 Columbia Road Dorchester, MA 02125 and will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
