She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles W. Tate and Anna Tate (Miller); her brothers, Charles Tate and Clyde E. Tate; her husbands, Issie James Law and Cleveland Brooks; and her son Wallace Jay Law.
She is survived by: her children, Dessirree Denise Kenku (Law), Leilani Jean Spellman (Michael), Adreenne Lavern Law (Thomas Hampton), Jimmerell Marie Fisher (Cyril) and Eric James Law. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
