It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phyllis M. McCarthy (Boston, Massachusetts), who passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard L. Donovan and Sabina E. Donovan (Healey); her husband Paul N. McCarthy; her son Michael R. McCarthy; and her siblings, Bernard Donovan, Mary Morra, Frederick Donovan and Rita Mullen.
She is survived by: her children, MaryEllen White (Joseph) of Needham, Janet Murray (Joseph) of Bedford, NH, Paul N. McCarthy Jr. (Laurie) of Narragansett, RI and Bernadette McCarthy of Brighton; and her grandchildren, Paul McCarthy III, Albert McCarthy (Holly), Timothy, Johanna, Michael White, William, Elizabeth and Katherine Murray. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McNamara Funeral Home (63 Chestnut Hill Ave, Brighton, MA 02135). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home (63 Chestnut Hill Ave, Brighton, MA 02135). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Columbkille Church (321 Market St, Brighton, MA 02135). A burial will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at the St Joseph Cemetery (990 Lagrange St, Boston, MA 02132).
