She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard L. Donovan and Sabina E. Donovan (Healey); her husband Paul N. McCarthy; her son Michael R. McCarthy; and her siblings, Bernard Donovan, Mary Morra, Frederick Donovan and Rita Mullen.
She is survived by: her children, MaryEllen White (Joseph) of Needham, Janet Murray (Joseph) of Bedford, NH, Paul N. McCarthy Jr. (Laurie) of Narragansett, RI and Bernadette McCarthy of Brighton; and her grandchildren, Paul McCarthy III, Albert McCarthy (Holly), Timothy, Johanna, Michael White, William, Elizabeth and Katherine Murray. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to the Newton Athletes Unlimited, PO Box 66163, Newton, MA 02466, which provides year-round recreation programs to children and adults with disabilities.
