Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Richard leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Milstein and Sarah Milstein; and his sisters, Charlotte (Moskowitz) and Gladys (Rosenthal). He is survived by: his nephews, Gary R. Moskowitz, Kenneth S. Moskowitz, David B. Moskowitz and Bruce N. Rosenthal; and his niece Deborah G. Rosenthal. He is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews; and a number of close friends.
In 1999, he received the William Pynchon Award for his distinguished public service and contributions to the cultural life of Western Massachusetts. He was elected to the American Law Institute and the American Bar Foundation.
