She was predeceased by: her father Moses Allen; and her husband Joseph F. Brodie. She is survived by: her grandchild Khamara; her children, Cynthia A. Brodie-Coleman (late Elliot Coleman), Sharon A. Brodie-Coleman (Walter Bruce Coleman Sr.), Joseph L. Brodie, Marion Brodie, Kim Brodie-Cleaves (Michael A. Cleaves) and Mildred R. Brodie; her siblings, Mozell Baker, Betty Humphries and Richard Allen; and her sister-in-law Minister Mary Parker-Woods. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She regularly donated to over ten charities, including the Hester Family Scholarship Fund.
