We are sad to announce that, on December 10, 2025, at the age of 84, Shirley J. Holmes Grassa (Boston, Massachusetts) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert M. Holmes and Emily F. Barrett (Perry); and her brother Robert M. Holmes. She is survived by: her pet Gazie Boy; her husband John D. Grassa of Norwood; her children, Frances May (Robert) of Neosho, MO, Deborah Rock (Anthony) of Hull, Kenneth W. Glew of Hull, Regina Battersby Grassa (Cora Battersby), John Grassa of Somerville, Angela Grassa of Lynn and Michael Grassa (Gina); and her siblings, Barbara J. Glew of Marshfield and John Barrette of Dorchester. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.
