She was predeceased by: her parents, William Zachariah Jones and Lizzie Jones (Hayes); her husband Henry Tate; her children, Eugene and Christene; and her great grandchild Raekwuan Jenkins.

She is survived by: her children, Darlene and Jesse (Thelma). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
