He is survived by: his wife Sandra J. Tanner (Dever); his children, Stephanie DiCenso (David) of East Boston, Christopher Tanner (Sarah) of Peabody, Jennifer Dorato (Robert) of Groveland and Michael Tanner (Leslie Montalto) of Londonderry, NH.; his sisters, Patricia (Anthony "Buster" Romano) of Plymouth, Virginia (Nicholas Atkinson) of Florida and Carole Tracia (late William "Sonny" Tracia) of East Boston; his grandchildren, John, David, Alexandria DeCenso of Anthony, Adrianna, Ava Tanner, Maggie, Jackson, Aidan Dorato and Brady Tanner; and his great grandchildren, Giovanni and Anastasia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
