It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George C. Barber (Brookline, Massachusetts), who passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As George departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved George. Though George may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his children, Bruce Barber (late Karen) and Payton; his siblings, Anna Mae Barber, Mary Jane Kady (John) and Paul Barber (Sally); and his brother-in-law John Filigenzi (Marilyn).
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley; his children, Beverly Barber (Kevin Heckler) and Grampa of Chloe; and his siblings-in-law, Aggie Day (late Fred) and Rita Crawford (Ed).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
