She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Bornstein and Anne Bornstein; and her siblings, Lillian Katz and Merton Lamden. She is survived by: her husband Hubert Caplan; her daughters, Susan Caplan (Michael Kazenel) of Canton, Jeanne Val (Luc Bernard Val) of Milton and Donna Caplan of Kauai; her grandchildren, Kala Hagopian, Melanie Kazenel, Robert Buskirk-Lechner, Jessie Kazenel, Christopher Kaaria, Daniel Kazenel, Benjamin and Jeremy Val; and her great grandchild Kai Williams.
Donations in Ray's memory may be made to the Lakes Environmental Association Caplan Family Education Fund or to the Friends of Wellesley College Botanic Gardens.
