It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard C. Nelson of Brookline, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 30, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Richard may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife MaryJane Nelson (Kilgallon); his children, Theresa M. Breen of Brookline, Richard C. Nelson, Jr. (Barbara) of Eastham, Robert W. Nelson (Rita) of Westwood, David J. Nelson (Mary Beth) of Canton and Stephen M. Nelson (Rosa) of West Roxbury; and his siblings, Arthur Nelson of Walpole and Alice Bloom of Citrus Heights, CA.. He was also cherished by grandchildren, his adored great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home (376 Washington St, Brookline, MA 02445). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church (5 Linden Pl, Brookline, MA 02445).
