He is survived by: his wife Yasuko Ishibashi; his stepdaughter Shaye Cohn (Kyndra Heischman); his children, Caitlin Ishibashi (Scotty Miles) and Ryan Hickey (Kayla McKeon); his friends, Maureen (Moe), Nora Utrup, Patrick Hickey (Andrea Kilbury) and Daniel Hickey (Gwendolyn Gann-Hickey); his nephews, Eddie Benavides, Josiah Williams, Gabriel Williams, David Hickey and Ethan Hickey; his stepmother Lynette Ousley; Jeff Bracey (Heather Faris). He is also survived by many cousins, friends.

We siblings began weekly Zoom calls during COVID.

He received a Graduate Fellowship from the National Science Foundation from 1978-1981.
