He is survived by: his wife Karen Smith; his godson Isiah Fossett; his stepchildren, Michelle, Ashley, Michael Jr., Torri Yancey and Isiah; his siblings, Mary Peake (Puddin), Doreen Smith-Epps, Roxanne Smith, Mikell Ringgold, William Fossett, Sr. (Poochie) and Thomas Ringgold; his brothers-in-law, Anthony Epps and Kevin Lanier Sr.; his grandchildren, Kaia, Ta'liyah, Trent, Khyair and Khaylee; his nieces and nephews, Shalonda, Ratasha, Sophia, Imani, Diamond, Brittany, DeWayne, Ronald, Otis, Jr. (Christine), Keyonte and Malik; and his close friends, Kevin Buie and Bernard English. He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends.
