She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Oetman and Ruth Oetman; her former husband John Verhage; and her siblings, Eddie Oetman, Mary Jean Schnicke, Joan Horton and Aileen Rose.
She is survived by: her husband David Smith Sr.; her children, Bonnie Maschke (Scott), Anthony Verhage and Jane Clark (Steven); her stepchildren, David Smith Jr. and Diane Lombardo (Larry); her grandsons, Johnathan Clark, Matthew Clark and Maxwell Maschke; and her brother Bill Oetman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home (120 S Woodhams St, Plainwell, MI 49080). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
