Cora Judith DeBat Obituary
We announce the death of Cora Judith DeBat (Kalamazoo, Michigan), who passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 92. Cora will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cornelius Timmer and Gertrude Timmer (Kreling); her husband Marinus DeBat; her siblings, Henry, David, Arthur, Adrian, Nelson, Len Timmer and Marie Polderman; her son-in-law Farhat Kazmi; and her granddaughter Kasey DeBat.
She is survived by: her children, Michael DeBat (Shirley), Donald DeBat (Wendy), Carolyn Kazmi-Bloomfield (Ben Bloomfield), Jane DeBat (Neil Gardner), Richard DeBat (June), Marianne Buckenberger (David), Kathleen Sleeman (Mark), Joan Blackmer (Brian) and Steven DeBat; her brothers, Bill Timmer (Linda) and Gerald Timmer (Pauline); and her siblings-in-law, Alberta Timmer, Joan Timmer, Leona Timmer, Tina Brower and John Polderman. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation (108 Pratt Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49001). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:30 PM at the West Cooper Cemetery (7530 Douglas Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009).
