He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hackney and Josephine Hackney (Kuite); and his pets, Lady, Elsah, Buddy, Bill and Lucy.
He is survived by: his wife Jean C. McIntyre; his pet Esther; his sister Louise Haas (Bill); his nephew Steve Haas; his sister Jean Manner; his nephew Jeff Manner (Barb Colacioppo); his nieces, Amy Moser (Patrick) and Karrie (Derrick); and his in-laws, Vern, Louise Robinson, Christine McIntyre (Chris Kulco), Ed and Beth Koryno.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes (6080 Stadium Dr, Kalamazoo, MI 49009).
Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Kalamazoo or a charity of your choice.
