Diane M. Widrig Obituary

Diane "Dee Dee"Michele Widrig (Prokop) passed away peacefully, in Kalamazoo, MI on November 6, 2025, spending her last moments with her children and grandchildren by her side. Diane was born October 3, 1951 in Ypsilanti, MI. The fifth of five children to George and Margaret Prokop (Marcotte). She graduated in 1969 from Wolverine high school. Soon after she married her high school sweetheart Kim Widrig on October 11, 1969. After having four children she returned back to school to pursue her love for taking care of others. She graduated with her LPN in 1996. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana (Honey). She is survived by her children Chad (Renee) Widrig of Spring Arbor, Sonja Widrig of Kalamazoo, Kimberly (Nahro) Hamad of Alma, and Ashley Widrig of Kalamazoo, one sister Carol (Mike) Jaroche. Twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Kim Widrig, her parents George and Margaret Prokop, her sister Barbara Theaker and Judy Fitzner, and brother George Prokop.
