He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Roest and Grace Vander Roest (DeYoung); and his granddaughter Madilyn Vander Maas. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Vander Lugt; his children, Becki Ruh (Bill), Lisa Vander Maas (Andrew), Dan Vander Roest (Candace), Sheri Barker (Andy), David Vander Roest (Holly) and Sandy Vander Roest; his grandchildren, Josiah (Morgan), Malachi, Isaiah, Billy, Lydia (Noah), Sophia (Utah), Michael, Riley, Gabriella, Hailey, Zoe, Ashley, Joe (Nora), Moses, Carter, Nolan and Trevor; and his brother Raymond Vander Roest.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Texas Corners Bible Church (7780 S 8th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009).
