She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend John VanderPloeg and Henrietta VanderPloeg (Bouwkamp); her husband John W. Asma; and her siblings, Jean Geenen (Adrian), Nancy VandenHeuvel (Hank), Betty Slobe (Dale) and John VanderPloeg (Margaret).
She is survived by: her children, Robin Glerum (David), Wendy Ling (Raymond), Cal Asma (Dawn) and Daniel Asma (Beth); and her siblings-in-law, Dale Slobe, Al Asma (Mary) and Nancy Asma (Jake). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Kalamazoo Christian Schools or Centrica Care Navigators.
