With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frederic Sammons (Kalamazoo, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 17, 2025 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Frederic Sammons to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dana Sammons and Jean Sammons; and his siblings, Rosaline Kummer, Calvin Sammons, George Sammons and James Sammon.

He is survived by: his wife Dr Barbara Rider; his daughters, Nina Sammons, Amy Sammons-Best, Laura Sammons (Zita Meres), Deborah Schroder (Tom), Sarah Rider (Oscar Sage) and Jill Kruse (Mark); his grandchildren, Maggie Carson, Elizabeth Carson, Nathan Sammons-Best, Sam Schroeder, Austin Schroeder, Zack Schroeder, Sarah Kruse and Amy Kruse; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Wilson, Jackson, Frances Abernathy, Charlie, Aubrey and Joane. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to WMU Foundation FBO Open Journal for Occupational Therapy, AMBUCS, and WMU Foundation FBO Unified Clinics for Audiology for Infants.
