Gene Raymond Farley passed away Saturday afternoon, February 1, 2025. Gene was born December of 1939 to William Thomas Farley Jr. And Mildred Blair Farley Sanzone. Gene grew up on the Northside of Chicago within a stones throw of Wrigley Field and Riverview Amusement Park. Making him a lifetime fan of the Cubs but not of amusement parks. He recounted many escapades with best buddies Sam and Bill, some not to be repeated to this day. Gene's father passed away when he was a youngster and his Mom married the man he would forever call his Dad. Anthony Sanzone became his father, friend, teacher, mentor, and sometimes co conspirator. One of the significant things he learned was the importance of family. He loved his family. His wife Lynne his daughter Michelle and his son Christopher were the most important beings in his world and he lived each moment for them. And then came his Mom and sisters and after that in-laws and Aunts Uncles and Cousins Nephews and especially nieces. He loved and cared about them all. Gene was a union man Pipefitters local 597. He felt it was important to contribute both financially through membership and with ideas to make things better for his union brothers. Gene retired early to build a house on Saddle Lake in Southwestern Michigan. Where he and his wife Lynne lived until he died. Gene leaves behind Lynne his loving wife of 62 years, his son Christopher and wife Samantha, his daughter Michelle and spouse Rick, sisters Antoinette (Edward) Pazdro and Rosemarie McDowell, Sister-in-law Susan Worofka, two that he considered his Grand Kids Casey and Chad Wulk, all of his favorite nieces Sarah Beth Gail Leah Amanda Melissa and Christen and nephews Nathan and Andrew. And a baker's dozen of his Great in every way nieces and nephews.
