It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry J. De Vries of Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry E. Vries and Stella De Vries (Boekhout); and his siblings, Edward, Fred De Vries, Agnes Sportell, Grace Baas and Marguerite Kuzee.
He is survived by: his wife Betty June De Vries (Vander Roest); his children, Gregory H De Vries (Susan) of Portage, Deborah J. Plaisier (Ronald) of Kalamazoo and Denise J. Wilbur (Robert) of Ada, MI; his grandchildren, Trisha Batts (Nathan), Nathan G. De Vries, Kristina Schrik (Dan), Katherine Weyenberg (Jevin), Elisabeth Wilbur, Sarah Deters (Trevor), Jessica Holbrook and Victoria Wilbur; his stepgrandson Luke Livingston; his great grandchildren, Ella, Everett Weyenberg, Thomas, Henry, Caroline Batts, Andrew, Anna, Oliver Schrik, Willem, Bette, George Deters, Jack and Hendrik Holbrook; and his sister Helen Van Giessen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tree of Life Schools.
