We announce the death of Ida M. Walton of Kalamazoo, Michigan, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey James and Rachel James (Barnes); her former husband Lawrence Risner; her husband Jack Walton; and her siblings, Winford James, Ollie James and Little Victory.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Lee Risner (Maddie) of Florida, Linda Kay Nichols (Paul) of Plainwell, Dorothy Chappell (Victor) of Plainwell, Bonnie Markle Plainwell (Dave), Lawrence Risner Jr. of Kalamazoo and Richard A. Risner (Angela) of Battle Creek; her siblings, Vivian Trimpe and Norman James; her granddaughter Lacey Ford; Heather Griffin. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Orangeville Pentecostal Church (6097 Marsh Rd, Shelbyville, MI 49344). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Oakhill Cemetery (6942 Lindsey Rd, Plainwell, MI 49080).
