He is survived by: his son Jamaine Pillow (Elvena "Chess" Pillow); his siblings, Melba Martin, Mary Ollie and Roy Ayers; his niece Cynthia Streeter; his nephews, Billy Joe McGrath, Michael McGrath, Tony Ollie, Darryl Ollie and Quentin Martin; and his pet Bex. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
