He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Nord and Dorothy Nord (Corstange); and his siblings, Mary Nord and James Nord. He is survived by: his wife Carol (VanDenBerg); his children, Douglas Nord (Nancy), Kristi Eiden (Tom) and Debra McLeod (Kevin); his grandchildren, Jonathan Nord, Lindsay Cleary (Craig), Nathan Heemstra, Katie Nabatoff (Jacob), Chelsie Eiden, Jack Eiden, Griffin McLeod, Konnor McLeod and Sophia McLeod; and his brother William Nord (Karla).
