Joseph Max Cook Obituary

A memorial service will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in c/o the funeral home.

Age 69 of Kalamazoo passed away on Tuesday April 29, 2025 at home. Joe was born April 23, 1956 in Kalamazoo the son of Max and Luella (Vroman) Cook. He attended Kalamazoo Public Schools and was a truck driver retiring from Dutchman Trucking. Joe was a Vietnam Veteran serving is the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting and working on cars. Surviving are his wife, Robin Hopper; daughter, Karena (Tim) Boyd; son, Richard Hopper; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alaura (Bill) Decker, Sue Reeves, Lueretta Cook; brother, Gary (Rhonda) Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marilyn Avery; two brothers, Jairus Cook, Jimmy Cook.
