She was predeceased by: her parents, Clem Bowman and Floya Bowman (Ford); her husband John Harvey Horton; her siblings, Betty Bowman, J. C. Bowman and Elmer Bowman; and her grandson Alexander Lay.

She is survived by: her children, Donald R. Horton (Kathryn) of Vicksburg, David A. Horton (Yvonne) of Kalamazoo, Krystal G. H. Holland (Henry) of Kalamazoo and Karen S. McLemore (Mark) of Spicewood, Texas.; and her sister Mary Wilson of Bledsoe, Kentucky..
