In accordance with his wish, cremation will take place, and no services are scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Kalamazoo, c/o the funeral home.

Age 59, of Kalamazoo, passed away at his home on October 21, 2025. Mark was born in Kalamazoo on June 27, 1966, the son of Larry and Judith "Judy" (Youdell) Holmes. Mark was a quiet and gentle man who had a passion for historic homes, the community of Kalamazoo and his pets. He Graduated from Loy Norrix High School, Class of 1984. Mark was a hard worker who traveled the country working on restoration projects, bringing back to life old homes and buildings. When not working Mark enjoyed being at home caring for his faithful cat "Zoey". Mark will be missed by those who loved him. He is survived by his mother, Judy; sister, Beth Drake; four children, Courtnie Holmes, Zachary Holmes; Nathaniel Holmes and Lindsay Holmes; two nephews; extended family and friends. He was preceded in passing by his father, Larry; and a special grandmother, Dorothy Barteltt.
