She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Smith and Ellma Lee Smith (Loyd); her son-in-law David Smith; and her siblings, Peggy Walden, Junie Brown, Jackie Smith, Nancy Strawn and Lucille McDonald.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dawn Weaver (Brian), Marca Corning (Steve) and Gwyn Smith; her grandchildren, Gwendolyn Weaver, Jessica Korista (David), Justin Weaver, Josh Corning (Cassandra), Cara Hopkins (Jeremiah), Travis Corning, Emily Huisken (Shane), Codey Kirk and Lynnsie Collins (Jon); her siblings, Connie Rounsavall, Sue Smith and Sonny Smith; Jennifer Costello, Stephanie and Lauren Costello. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services - Westside (3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) or the American Heart Association.
