Mary M. Brininger Obituary

Mary Montora Brininger, age 91, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Mary was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on April 25, 1935, to James and Marie Decamp Oswalt.

She attended Mattawan High School, where she met the love of her life, Harold Brininger Jr. Mary and Harold were married on December 5, 1952, in Paw Paw, Michigan, and shared 71 wonderful years together. They raised three children: Jeanette, Jeffrey, and Doug.

Mary was a devoted homemaker who found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed sudoku, puzzles, sewing, crafts, and playing bunco with her friends.

She is survived by her son, Doug Brininger; daughter-in-law, Dawn Brininger; grandchildren Brad (Kelly) Petersen, Randy (Jessica) Brininger, Jamie Payne, Jennifer Brininger, and Amy Buck; along with her great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Harold; her daughter, Jeanette; her son, Jeffrey; and her brothers, Bob and Tom.

Mary will be remembered for her kindness, her loving heart, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She was always smiling, a true gem to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
