She was predeceased by: her parents, Abram Visser and Nellie Visser (Wagenaar); her in-laws, Hiram and Jennie Herder (Robert Herder); and her siblings, Effie, Case Dykstra, John, Connie Visser, Sam, Carol Visser, Wilma, Neil Kuiper, Gerrit Visser, Clare Visser, Nate Herder (Norma), Vern Herder (Lois) and Maureen Herder.
She is survived by: her children, Tom Herder (Sally), Lynn Kloosterman (Phil) and Kay Niewoonder (Ed); her grandchildren, Steve Herder (Kelli), Ryan Herder, Jennifer Herder, Laura Cappelluti (Joe), Carrie Garrison (Jared), Mark Kloosterman, Chad Niewoonder (Josie), Nate Niewoonder (Paige) and David Niewoonder; her great grandchildren, Jayden, Avery Herder, Drew, Tate Garrison and Lucas Niewoonder; her brother Henry Visser; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Visser and Paul Herder. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Covenant United Reformed Church (3724 Lovers Ln, Kalamazoo, MI 49001). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Norma's name can be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
