We bid farewell to Richard Wayne Simmons of Kalamazoo, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 10, 2025 at the age of 92. Richard touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simmons and Beulah Simmons (Castor); his wife Arlene Stermer; his son Rich Jr.; his brother David; his uncle Wayne; his son-in-law Jerome Mescher; and his siblings-in-law, Frank Murray and Doris Simmons.

He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Jacoby of Ohio, Diane Mescher of Ohio, Lori Green (Glenn) of Kalamazoo, Andy Simmons (April) of Kalamazoo, Ann O'Day (Scott) of Kalamazoo and Joseph Simmons of Kalamazoo; his grandchildren, Michael, Phillip, Eric, Luke, Colin, Garrett, Johnathon, Jacob, Linley, Jodi, Danielle, Shelby, Kealey, Kendall, Kenzie and Alana; and his siblings, Joan Murray and Jack Simmons (Sharon). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A reception was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services - Westside (3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009).
