He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl and Thelma; and his siblings, Marvin (Marilyn), Vance, Watson (Bonnie), Elvira, Raymond and Foster.
He is survived by: his sister Nellie Vels (Pete); his sister-in-law Marion; his wife JoAnn; his children, Scott Swope (Kim), Jodi Osmun (Greg) and Kristen Kruzich (Bart); and his grandchildren, Jordan Swope, Gretchen, Carter Osmun, Jake, Katie, Kaleb and Zach Kruzich. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes (6080 Stadium Dr, Kalamazoo, MI 49009). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pathfinder Church (8740 S Westnedge Ave, Portage, MI 49002).
Memorial contributions may be made to their church home at Pathfinder Church or to The University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center which has meant so much to all of us these last few years.
